My grandfather was a great storyteller and like all great storytellers, he would develop his stories slowly, at a pace rarely seen in our atomic age. When I was much younger, he would not talk about politics because "there will be a time for this". While I've always listened with pleasure to his stories, later he felt I was asking too many questions when he would talk about his life and would quickly lose patience. As such, I grew up knowing less about him than about other less important subjects we used to discuss. Therefore, these pages are not only a commemorative project, but also my own personal attempt at piecing together his life in his biography and better understanding him.
